After leaving Leeds University in the mid seventies I joined Deloitte & Touche (Accountants) but quickly became distracted by the awesome power of information technology which became a career until 2006 when I needed a bigger challenge.
During that time I held several management roles including IT Director and travelled extensively.
I now own and manage Weightwash, providing workwear and linen, rental and laundry services to customers across the South of England. Outside of the work place I am involved in Scouting, outdoor activities, classic car building and rallying across the country.
Since leaving college my career has always been customer facing. I have progressed from retail sales to senior management of an independent chain of stores. I have developed knowledge and experience from working in the independent sector as well as with multinational companies such as Sony.
I have recently celebrated 10 years with Weightwash during which time I have seen a significant increase in customer numbers and turnover. Two factory moves to larger and improved locations have allowed me to develop new markets for Weightwash.
Outside of work I enjoy all sports either participating or watching. Cycling, football, badminton and fly fishing are my preferred distractions however a nice country walk culminating in a pub lunch can be an alternative on occasions.
